JSO On the Go!

Johnstown Symphony Orchestra’s educational ensembles JSO On The Go! offer mentorship and encouragement to music students and entire student populations in area public schools. Two quintets are available to visit K-12 schools to support and enrich music education programming in our region. Our musicians directly engage students through performance and in rehearsal.

Children in K-6 “meet the instruments” through our engaging demonstrations showcasing a range of musical concepts. These fun chamber performances are helpful to young artists who want learn more about an instrument.

Middle and High School students can build proficiency and experience a renewed enthusiasm for music making when our quintet joins their band or orchestra rehearsal. Students play side by side with JSO musicians who interact with them modeling professionalism and demonstrating new or advanced techniques.
